If this weekends Paralympic Anniversary Games in London have taught us anything it is that the public interest in disability sports is still sky high following last years landmark Olympiad.

But its important to remember some of the other stars of the games, those that shone away from the track and field arena in Stratford, stars like David Wetherill in the Paralympic table tennis.

Despite going out in his second round game at London 2012, Wetherill was credited with the œshot of the tournament after executing a stunning lunge against German opponent Thomasz Kusiak, providing home fans with one of the most memorable moments of the games.

Now, the Brighton Table Tennis Club are preparing to hold a public wheelchair table tennis event at Churchill Square Shopping Centre in the Sussex town. The event will allow people of all abilities to experience this frenetic and rewarding sport, pitting their skills against two of the UKs best players in Shaun Newcomb and Wen Wei Xu!

Brighton Table Tennis Club opted to organise the event to mark the inauguration of a new weekly disability session, to be held at the club every Monday.

If youre in the Brighton area and would like to get involved in tomorrows event, head to Churchill Square between 10:30am and 12:30pm.
