There are three main types of mattresses which can be fitted to your adjustable bed. When selecting ensure it gives good support and is comfortable.

Coil Spring Mattresses

The coil spring mattresses is one of the most common and usually consists of either a single length of wire which is coiled within the mattress to give support to the user or individual springs which are joined by spiral wires to form the mattress unit. There main variables which will determine the firmness and comfort of the mattress being the number of coils and thickness or gauge of wire used.  In a double bed there should be at least 300 coils, but the important factor is the comfort to you the user rather than facts and figures.

Pocket Sprung Mattresses

A traditional pocket sprung mattress consists of individual springs encased in their own fabric pocket. Due to the fact that they are not wired together each spring is able to move more independently. It is said the pocket sprung system is probably the most comfortable inner spring mattress.

Foam Mattresses

Latex mattresses are made from foam which can be hypoallergenic. The latex will adjust to the contours of your body, giving you support where required.  Modern foam mattresses are breathable to help your body maintain a comfortable temperature.
