Recent email from a visitor....What a great idea and should have been done years ago. I am disabled and use a mobility scooter, but I also drive as well. I am very careful when I am out and about on it. I have a 8mph scooter, I have it registered with the DVLA even have number plates for it, and not my name or nick name, it is just like when you register a car, I also have insurance, and it is also taxed. Most of the time when I go out on it you would not believe the amount of people that laugh at me and think that the number plates are a joke. Even with all of this I try my upmost to not use the roads. I know that a lot of car drivers do not have the patients when scooters are on the road. The sooner this is done the better. I also think that it would be a good idea to introduce some sort of tests for drivers of cars etc... to be aware of mobility scooters, breaking distances, speed etc..
